Updates

It's been a little while…. So, yes, I am finally going to upload a ton of my clips later today. Finally! I've been a little too preoccupied with other things. StumptownLunch.com is just one of those many things. It’s currently the number three Portland food blog on UrbanSpoon.com! That's awesome! I also did some needed tweaks to my resume here. Check it out! I’ll update when the clips are up. Should make for a long day….

I love Kinko’s!

July 21, 2008 – 9:41 pm
On Thursday I picked up the entire first draft of the book at Kinko's (or, as it's now called, FedEx -- weird). It's long for a novel, so over the next few weeks I need to do some fine tuning and hopefully cut stuff out. I know there is stuff I can cut out, I just need to dig in an do it! This is really the hardest part of writing -- the editing and cutting! But just having the full first draft in my hands is GREAT! Now, back to finishing a review for StumptownLunch.com!!!

More book news

Ahhh. I am so close to being done it's crazzzzy. I have everything pretty much done, actually. Just the re-writes now. There are a lot of re-writes (it's a 40-chapter book after all). There are a couple of chapters that really need a lot of work, and that's what I've been up to over the past two days. It's actaully really weird to be this close. But I already have ideas for future projects, so getting this all behind me is exciting. Even if I never sell this book, this has been a great personal writing project. I am planning to have a yard sale this weekend, so I might not be able to "power" through the rest by the weekend, but that's okay. So much is done that this is kind of the easy part. Now I know how all three characters' stories end, and it's just one character's "middle part" that I am ...

Go read a book

May 2, 2008 – 3:33 pm
My friend Rob just published a great new book, White House Ghosts. He was even on The Daily Show to promote it this past Wednesday. How cool! Go check it out! Now I need to get back to my own writing. :) [Editor's note: The link to Rob's new book doesn't seem to be showing up on the front page, go directly to the post to get to the link. Just another glitch to figure out!]

Snag…

April 27, 2008 – 11:03 pm
Okay, I hit a scanning problem over the weekend, so my two-inch thick stack of clips that have been gathering dust aren't going digital until I figure out a solution. Nothing seems to be going "as planned" for me at the moment. At least tomorrow is Monday, and that dream job I've been waiting for might be just a phone call away! Anyone have a scanner?

Book news

April 26, 2008 – 9:42 pm
Okay, I am feeling pretty awesome right now. My first novel is going to be done in the next couple of weeks. It's way damn too long, but it's awesome. I re-read things that make me laugh. Hopefully, future readers will read and laugh at it too! (Well, may not AT it, but at all the crazy things the characters do!) I would post chapters here, but I got SO burned when a random college student writer completely copied and pasted one of my news articles for her school newspaper. How does that even happen?? Where were the fact-checkers? It was my work word-for-word. I love the Internet, but it's almost to easy now to steal people's copy-written work.

Update!

April 25, 2008 – 5:26 pm
This is now officially the professional blog of Sarah Keech! The About section is updated, I've posted my current resume and added a bunch of clips. There are more clips to come over the weekend. I just need to dedicate a few hours to bonding with my scanner over the next few days. Fun times! I have at least 20 more articles and other pieces of my work to post. Wish me luck! Happy Friday!

Yay! Finally live!
